Hunting Underwater!
Feeling like some underwater action and adrenaline?
On Bonaire, we’re dealing with a special (and unfortunately invasive) species: the lionfish.
Did you know that a single lionfish can lay up to 10,000 eggs at a time? No wonder we see so many of them! Luckily, we get to help keep their population under control and we do it in a super fun way.
We catch these fish with a special spear called the ELF, and safely store them in a ZooKeeper while searching for the next one.
